Gingerbread playdough smells SO good! This is one of my favorite playdough recipes. First, gingerbread playdough really does smell just like gingerbread (which I love). Second, it doesn’t involve heating the mixture on the stove, so you can make it pretty much anywhere. All that’s involved is mix, knead, and play!
You’ll Need:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
1/2 Tbsp ground ginger
1 TbspĀ vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
Mix ingredients together with spoon, then knead until it all sticks together. It will be crumbly at first.
Playdough Tip
If your playdough ever dries out, add a few drops of coconut oil to the playdough. I make a little hole with my finger in the middle of the playdough and put the oil in there and than close it up and start working the oil through the playdough. Add a few more drops if it isn’t quite how you like it.
Wait! There’s more!!!!!!!!
If you want to make your own gingerbread salt dough brown bears, roll out dough, use bear cookie cutter to cut out bears, use a straw to put a hole in the bear to hang later. Put on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 45 minutes at 300 degrees. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Paint or decorate as desired. I like to leave them as is or sometimes paint or spray a sealant on them. The only issue with that is the sealant can decrease the gingerbread scent.
