Our sensory activity cards for the classroom are a gamechanger!
I had assembled a less aesthetically pleasing set awhile back because I couldn’t keep track of my “recipes” — playdough, slime, kinetic sand, salt dough, etc. I would find a new recipe on Pinterest, print it out and then inevitably lose it. And I wasn’t making these items often enough to remember the recipes by memory. Plus, I would change a recipe slightly to make it work better for me, or I would learn a new way to store something and I would never remember any of that from time to time.
I put together my recipes and then once I started getting into the curriculum rabbit hole, I thought that maybe these might be helpful to parents, grandparents, teachers, homeschooling parents and more. If I was going to make them available for download, I had to make them look fun, or at least try to and I think I succeeded.
I love them and because of having to take photos of them, I now have them on my tablet for quick reference, but I also have them in my new Yogalore notebook in sheet protectors to keep water, flour, food coloring, etc. off the pages. You may want to use them just like regular recipe cards and cut them and store them in a container just like recipes. I went on and made a flip book too, which makes for easy access, so there are many ways to keep your cards once you get them.
ETA: I just updated the file and added four blank recipe cards for your own sensory recipes and activities.
Included in this card deck are recipes for classic playdough, wheat-free playdough, baking soda bombs, sidewalk chalk/bath paint, slime/gak, kinetic sand, classic salt dough and more!.
You can download the Sensory Recipe & Activity Cards here.
You can visit TeachersPayTeachers and check out my store with loads of yoga pose cards and activities for preschoolers and kindergarteners. I will be adding items to the store as I complete them, but for now, enjoy the freebie!
When I designed the cards, they were created as postcard size (four cards to a page), however, you can print them any number of sizes in the printer settings. If you want to print that way, click on “More Settings”, then “Multiple” and then click “4” from the drop down menu for how many cards you would like to print on a sheet. It will show you what that will look like in the small preview window.
Happy Making!!!!!
