Fall Theme Activities for Preschool

Fall theme activities for preschool aren’t that difficult to find, but sometimes you want to do something different. That’s where we come in.

In the preschool/kindergarten world, fall is apples, pumpkin patches and Halloween. We have some fall and Halloween activities to keep your students active and engaged for as long as you need! This Halloween and fall-themed bundle has TWO sets of yoga pose cards along with TWO yoga pose cubes, TWO memory games and even a fall-themed spinner to use for a game.

Yoga to Go With Your Lesson Plan
Bringing yoga into your classroom is a decision you won’t regret. It helps each child focus, self-regulate, be more calm (therefore making you more calm as well!). We make it easy, even if you’re never been on a yoga mat before. The games included in the bundle are fall/Halloween game, but are easy to assemble and play. Children can learn some yoga poses and breaths and maybe you can take a deep breath too.

Yoga Center
You can also make fall-themed yoga center in your centers area. Have a fall-themed sensory bottle with our fall yoga cards and a small carpet square or smaller mat for children and allow them to do yoga themselves.

Fall Puzzles
Fall theme puzzles can also be a big hit, when you switch them out regularly, the kids love them!

I made a few fall-themed puzzles and my students really enjoyed them. They weren’t anything fancy, just a 9-piece-puzzle template and I had various fall pictures and even a few they could color when they were finished putting the puzzle together!
They loved putting the hedgehog puzzle together. We had just finished our fall theme yoga lesson and one of the poses was a hedgehog.

Go Outside!
Nature walks when the weather begins to cool off are always a lot of fun and you can also have a fall scavenger hunt where the children have to fins leaves of a certain color, acorns, etc.

My Fave Fall Books
There are a few books about fall that I love. One is Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert and another also by Lois Ehlert is Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf. A third book is another collage style book titled, It’s Fall by Linda Glaser. Linda Glaser also has the other season books available as well and they are just as beautiful as It’s Fall.
