Dinosaur yoga poses might just be my students’ favorite theme of the year. Could it be because I love teaching it so I put a lot of time and enthusiasm into it? Possibly. Recently I redesigned our dinosaur yoga pose cards and I am thrilled with the results. Better poses, better design, better clipart, better everything. I try to go back periodically and reassess my products. As I learn new things, I want to improve not just new products, but older ones too.

About the Cards

These dinosaur yoga poses are perfect for children ages 2 (maybe even younger) to about 6 years old. This dinosaur yoga pose deck comes with a total of 32 cards and includes a sensory/science activity as an added bonus. There are 17 actual dinosaur-related yoga poses with some fun dinosaur facts too!

In this pose card set (like many others), there are a few cards for Rest & Relax. This yoga pose deck includes a short dinosaur-themed guided visualization to read to the children during Rest & Relax. I also like to include a couple of blank cards in case you want to keep notes for this lesson plan or want to make flash cards or do a drawing activity like “Design/Draw Your Own Dinosaur”.

Yoga in the Classroom

Yoga is such a wonderful activity to do with your students or children at home (or both)! You do not have to have any prior experience to practice yoga with your students. There are no crazy standing on your head poses or twisting up like a pretzel, it’s just some fun moving and grooving for you and the kiddos. The children love the movement yoga provides and need that throughout their day. It can help ground children who need that extra movement to calm themselves and also helps to keep focus and retain information.
