April showers bring May flowers, right? Who is ready for spring? I know I am! We have spring printables coloring pages available for free download — April Showers and May Flowers. Use with sheet protectors for long lasting use. You can use dry erase markers, playdough, or any kind of counter to fill in.
I think of printables as more of activity mats. The word “printables” to me signifies coloring pages and nothing more. “Activity mats” gives you so many more options! They aren’t just for coloring. You can use on light tables or light boards, use counters or manipulatives to glue or place on the sheets to fill in objects. I like to use tissue paper that I cut small circles with using my die cutter and then the children will glue the tissue paper circles onto the printable while on the light table. The tissue paper is thin enough that it looks beautiful when lit up by the light board.
My students also like to fill in printables with glass or plastic gems on the light table. Of course these activities need to be closely supervised. They love making their own designs and using different colors of gems. The gems aren’t expensive — they are often at the dollar store and come in different shapes, sizes and colors.
Use our coloring pages for numerous activities. Incorporate counting, sorting, learning numbers by sight and many other concepts! Use the May flowers sheet to practice cutting skills and coloring or painting. For toddlers, use dot markers on the April showers page to mark as they count. Fill in the raindrops or flowers with playdough.
Bingo chips are another transparent counter/manipulative that my students often use on printables. The manipulatives are great for fine motor practice.
Our spring printables coloring pages are perfect for an at-home or school activity!
