We spend a lot of time looking for ways to help our little friends calm down. And then there are mornings when those same friends appear to have left their batteries on the charger.
Honestly? Sometimes the grown-ups have, too.
Wake up yoga gives children and adults a simple way to start moving together. These free Yogalore yoga cards make it easy to add movement to sleepy mornings at home or moments in the classroom when everyone could use a little more energy.

When to Try Wake Up Yoga
Despite the name, you don’t have to save these cards for first thing in the morning. Try them:
- As children arrive and settle into the classroom.
- After a stretch of sitting or quiet activities.
- When transitioning from rest time back into the afternoon.
- At home before getting ready for school.
- Whenever you want a short movement break you can do together.
You don’t need to turn it into a whole production. Choose a few cards, make room to move, and join in. If there’s space to stand and stretch, there’s space to begin.
How to Use the Free Yoga Cards
Display the cards on your phone, tablet, or classroom screen, or print a set to keep within reach. Printed cards can be stored in a small box or placed on a ring for an easy flip book.
Follow the sequence or choose a few movements that fit the time you have. Demonstrate alongside the children and invite everyone to do their best. The goal is participation, rather than getting every pose picture-perfect.
Some children will jump right in. Others may watch before joining. Give them time and keep the invitation welcoming.

A Little Movement for the Grown-Ups, Too
These cards aren’t just something to hand to children while we give directions from the sidelines. Move with them!
It’s a chance to stretch, share a few smiles, and take a break from whatever has kept you in your chair—or bent over a preschool-sized table.
What About Rest & Relax?
Yes, there’s a place for calming/regulated movement as well as more energetic movement. Taking a quiet pause gives everyone an opportunity to notice how they feel before moving on to the next part of the day.
You can make that pause part of your routine or save it for another moment.
And when your friends have plenty of energy and need help winding down, try our calm down yoga sequence. Different moments call for different kinds of movement.
